Sarah Lee Guthrie’s dazzling tour
Instant crush on the Spanish audience in a dozen unforgettable shows.
Her sweetness was only comparable to the formidable display of class on Spanish stages. Sarah Lee stunned everyone performing in Rock and Roll clubs, elegant theaters, music stores, hermitages, Universities, radio stations and events with clinking champagne glasses. Córdoba, Santander, Zaragoza, Bilbao, Madrid, León surrendered to her in an act of love and admiration, savoring every moment of her concerts as a bubbly celebration of life.
Her soul treasures the legacy of American Music, the verses of her father and grandfather run through her veins. And those of Phil Ochs, Dave Van Ronk, Kate Wolf, Townes Van Zandt and Loretta Lynn in a major repertoire that she makes her own. Each song was a brilliant and fleeting pearl that she delivered to the audience with a smile, with an exciting or funny story. And when ‘Window Rainbows’ arrived -a new own composition that premiered on this tour- our hearts froze of such portentous beauty, generating a contradictory impulse that still remains. Proclaim it from the rooftops as one of the most beautiful songs ever written or definitively assume that this world do not deserve such a gift; keep it at home, pamper it like the lonely child who feeds his field cricket with lettuce leaves.
